My name is Alison Naylor, I have been working as a professional Costume Maker for the last 19 years and I offer a bespoke service to design and create costumes for screen, advertising, stage, museums, re-enactment and weddings. I hand craft every part that leaves my workshop personally and any pieces that need to be outsourced are crafted in small quantities by trusted artisans. Every stage of a costumes creation is handled personally by myself from discussions with the client, through exhaustive research and construction to packaging and after sales, this is the only way that I can guarantee that my creations are as perfect as can be and something special that you will treasure. Specialising in cloth, leather and textile decoration, I combine my skills to produce costume pieces ranging from sci-fi and fantasy to historical, characterful or multiple.
The Workshop
Currently working from a purpose built wooden cabin in the garden of my home in the Northwest of England I have a range of industrial and domestic sewing machines including a rather large old free arm Singer which I named the Beast as it is a bit of a monster. The workshop also has a cutting room, leather working room and paint room. This allows me space to create all kinds of amazing costumes. There is plenty room for fitting models and building oversized character costumes.
